TAMPA – For the Jesuit Tigers, senior point guard D.J. Snyder defines what it means to be a scrappy and energetic player.
All season long Snyder has given it his all. Winning his fourth consecutive district title last Friday, the senior starter wasn’t done helping his team in the playoffs.
After scoring 15 points along with six assists and three rebounds in the 64-61 district title win over Robinson, Snyder filled up the stat sheet in the region quarterfinal on Wednesday night against visiting Lake Wales. He was one of three players with nine points as he also added six steals and three boards.
Here’s a clip of his clutch 3-pointer against Robinson in the first half on a great pass from sophomore point guard Thierry Moliere.
He didn’t make as big of an impact offensively in the 51-41 win over Lake Wales on Wednesday, but he still found ways to attack and hit open jumpers. Here’s a clip of a key layup he put home with just over two minutes left in the game.
The Tigers (23-5) play host to the winner of today’s Robinson-Sebring matchup in the region quarterfinal on Tuesday. Look for Snyder to continue to pace leading scorer, junior guard Stephen Darst, who has 16 and 23 points over his last two games.
