TAMPA – Talk about focus and determination, Plant wide receiver Juwan Burgess did everything and more in Thursday night’s spring jamboree against Robinson and Jefferson. The 6’1″, 190-pounder didn’t record a touchdown, but he sure had some big grabs.

Here’s the first highlight reel play Burgess made in this one. It comes on a 67-yard reception on the third drive of the opening quarter against Robinson. Quarterback Dane Frantzen delivers a bomb to Burgess and he nearly takes it all the way.

Mixing in on defense as well at safety, Burgess made a couple of really nice tackles. Here’s his other nice reception, a 12-yarder, late in the second quarter against Jefferson which helped setup a short touchdown run for Frantzen.

The rising senior has over 20 offers from legitimate Division-I programs including Florida, Miami, Clemson, USC, Arizona and Virginia Tech. He should be able to choose where he wants to go. Burgess is a star in the making. He has tremendous foot quickness which allows him to get downfield in a hurry.

Around Burgess, the Panthers have some more impressive wideouts this season including rising seniors De’Angelo Philyor, Christian Watson, 6’6″ Cameron Duggins and rising junior Ty Thompson. Don’t forget rising junior tight end Judge Culpepper who plays all over the field on both sides of the ball

Bonus clip: Here’s a 50 plus yard reception by Watson. He had a couple of really nice receptions and is going to be an important part of this Panthers offensive attack this season.
